Sept. 1, 2000 I was put on the emergency list to get my lap. done so we could have a definate diagnoises of the Endo. I also started getting a whole lot worse with how often the pains were hitting and how severe they were. I had to have my family dr. put me on stronger pain killers. I couldn't take the pains anymore. The end of October I still hadn't heard from my gynies. office about when my surgery was gonna be so I called to find out.
Boy did I get a surprise. I was way down on the list and they didn't plan to get me in until March 2001. I explained how the pains were getting worse and so I got moved up on the list. I was gonna get my lap. In Dec. 2000.
My husband and I made plans for this. I was spending most of the month in pain by the beginning of Dec. so we decided to just get a small artificial tree, and put the boys stockings out only. I wasn't able to decorate. I also thought I would be recoving at the time the decorations were to come down so I decided it was best to not put up a lot of decorations that my husband would have to take down and pack away.
One week before I was suppose to go in for my lap I received a call from the gynies office. My surgery was being bumped until Feb. 22, 2001. He had two cancer patients come in and all his other surgeries had to be bumped ahead for these two women.
We had saved holiday time for my husband to take off right after the surgery. This way he would be home for the first week and then I had arrangements made with some friends to help me out. Things were looking really good for my surgery. Feb. 22, 2001 came and we drove just over an hour to Kingston for my surgery. I had stopped eating at midnight and was aload clear liquids until 9:00am. We arrived in Kingston at 11:45am. My surgery was scheduled for 2:00pm.
We waited around after I had gotten changed and everything set up for the lap. |
