Elementals

At the manor, Christina and Diane are preparing the room to do the spell. Christina is holding three white pillar candles and Diane is holding two. They set the candles up forming a circle on the table. Chris lights all the candles then places a red candle in the middle.

She lights her incense and starts concentrates. All is quiet then she starts to chant softly, "By the powers of fire, bring to me my desire. Give my friend back his warmth, his life."

She then lights the red candle and bright red sparkles of light rise from the candle's flame and surround Vinny's body. Vinny's body begins to glow and he regains his consciousness slowly. "Vinny?" Diane quietly calls out.

"I can't believe it worked. I did it?!" Chris said surprised and amazed at her accomplishment.

"What happened?" Vinny stutters.

"We aren't really sure. All we know is that you were pretty much frozen," Christina explains. "So we did a spell to heal you."

"Where is everyone else?"

"They are battling Mary and Pyro and some other girl. But Paolo and Kate brought the fight to another realm to protect others from getting hurt, as well as to protect the house," Diane explains.

Vinny then tries to get up concerned about his friends. "Don't get up Vin, you need to rest and regain your strength," Christina tells him. "Besides, since everyone else is fighting, it's only me and you to protect this realm. And I definitely can't do it alone." Vinny then relaxes his body and lies down.

(All events are occurring at the same time but are divided.)

Meanwhile, Paolo and Mike are face to face with Pyro. First off is a battle of magick. Pyro ignites a fireball right towards both Paolo and Mike. Mike dodges the flame and Paolo catches it with a shadow and extinguishes the flame. Mike races towards Pyro and clutches tightly to his arm. With all his strength lifts him and throws him straight at the ground.

"Paolo!" Mike calls out. "Restrain him!"

Paolo stands before Pyro's fallen body and shadowy tendrils begin to emanate from his body engulfing Pyro. After watching Pyro try to struggle out of the restraints, he just lies still. Mike suddenly notices he was trying to burn free of it, and succeeding.

Once Pyro freed himself, Mike throws a punch at his face and his abdomen. Pyro cries out in pain bending over with his arms around his stomach. He slowly rises to his feet and points his finger at Mike, shooting fire darts directly towards him. Mike dodges all but one, which singes his left arm wounding him.

Pyro laughs maniacally, "You see, you play with fire, and you're going to get burned. You cannot defeat me."

�We�ll see about that,� Paolo says as he runs towards Pyro with his dagger. He stabs him right in his back. Pyro shrieks in pain as he falls down to his knees. He then lets out burst of hot energy sending Paolo flying backwards. The dagger also comes out of his body and flies towards Paolo, stabbing him in the leg. He too cries out in pain.

�I will be back for you!� he transforms into a pyre and disappears.

Mike gets back on his feet and approaches Paolo. �Are you ok?�

�Yea. I guess I�ll be fine.� He removes the dagger from his leg and uses his shirt to wrap around the wound, stopping the blood from exiting his body. �Are you ok?� he asks Mike.

�Yea, just a little bruised up, but I�ll be fine.�

In another site in the realm, Kate and Matt are facing Freeze. Matt and Kate are standing side by side in search of Freeze, in the tundra-like terrain. But so far, no luck in locating her. Suddenly, shards of ice strike the tree about a foot away from Matt. He then turns around to face his opponent. �The next one will not miss, I guarantee that,� she threatens.

She then directs her staff towards Matt, and releases another set of ice shards. Matt dodges them this time with his agility. He rushes towards her clotheslining her sending her to the ground. �What was that? I�m sorry I might not have heard you correctly,� Matt says sarcastically.

Freeze then floats off the ground and emanates a cold cloud from her hands towards Matt�s feet, turning them to ice. �No!� Matt yells out in fear.

�Hey Freeze! You didn�t forget about me did you? I want to play too!� Kate challenges her. �Come on, let�s go��

The angry mage turns her attention to Kate. Kate raises her hands towards Freeze and releases two bolts of flame. Freeze attempts to dodge both and succeeds, not realizing the bolts were meant to thaw Matt�s restraints. Matt then encircles her sending snow into a tornado-like formation and he stops causing the snow to collapse upon her.

�Thanks Kate,� he says.

�Oh, no problem. Anytime.�

Freeze rises up from her icy prison and shocks them. �It will take more than that to defeat me,� she explains confidently.

�Ok,� Kate says in reply. She then engulfs her fists with a bright flame and sends a stream of energy towards Freeze. Matt then runs to Kate, taking her athame from her side. Freeze falls down creating a hole in the ground. Kate runs to oversee Freeze, and fires more energy towards her. Freeze screams in pain from all the heat, and the force being exerted from Kate pushes her further down.

�I�ve had enough!� Freeze lifts her hands as if to absorb the energy, then sends a beam of her own, freezing Kate�s attack. She sees both Kate and Matt hovering above her and tries to freeze them both. They move out of the way just in time.

She levitates herself out of the ditch, but Kate catches her with another attack pushing her towards Matt. He then runs straight towards her, plunging the athame into her side. She sends another bolt of ice towards Kate, and she dodges it, falling flat onto the ground. Freeze turns around and does the same towards Matt, who just takes a step to the side rather quickly.

Freeze then transforms herself into a cold mist and disappears into the air. Matt rushes to Kate�s aid. �Are you ok? Anything hurting?�

�No, not really. But thanks for the concern Matt.�

�Let�s go find the others,� Matt suggests.

Carlo and Tom are faced with Mary. Carlo unsheathes his sword and attacks Mary swinging as if to decapitate her. She dodges that but does not notice Tom advancing towards her with a stake in hand. The stake goes right through her chest, but she just stares at him with laughter. �All that drama, and you miss my heart?� She then uses her power to throw Tom across the field.

Carlo attempts to attack with his sword again, but this time, losing control of it, until he notices Mary is trying to take control. She starts to laugh with a horrid grin on her face. The sword points itself towards Carlo�s throat.

Carlo desperately attempts to take back the sword with all his strength. Carlo stood his ground. Tom crept up behind her using another stake but again missing the heart, taking the attention away from Carlo. He regains control of the weapon and thrusts the blade right into her shoulder. She lets out an earth-shattering scream.

She looks back at Carlo and pushes him, but he doesn�t move as much. She turns to Tom and throws a stake at him as well. Tom then waves his hand and makes the stake disappear as it came closer to him.

Mary was amazed at the control they had with their powers. Carlo then hits her above the head sending her to the ground. Confused and mortified, she turns to them and threatens them, �You will perish at my hands, Ravenwolf. You can count on my return.� She then takes to the skies and disappears into the clouds.

�Great job Tom,� Carlo congratulates.

�Hey, you too.�

�Let�s go find the others�I wonder how they made out,� Carlo says curiously.

They all regrouped and stared at each other in wonder and pain. They were all bruised and in some cases, cut and burnt. But, after awhile, they began to laugh celebrating their victory.

Soon after they joined hands, and were surrounded by a white light. This took them back to the manor.

When they arrived they noticed Vinny, feeling much better. �How�d you get out of that state?� Carlo asked.

�Well, Christina borrowed one of Paolo�s spell books and did a spell to thaw me out. And it worked!� Vinny explained.

�Hmm,� Paolo wondered. �Good job! Just be careful with my spells though, they can be very unpredictable.�

�So, now at least we know who the enemy is. The Elementals. Hey Paolo, doesn't that sound familiar? I think we came across that in the Book of Shadows once.�

Matt ran upstairs to grab the book and came back down, �here�s the book. Try to find it.�

Paolo takes the book and frantically searches through the pages. �Here, I found it.�

�Ok, so read us what it says,� Christina suggests.

�The Elementals are a group of wizards with control over a specific element. Some call them the Tempestari, or weather wizards because some of them had that kind of control. Pyro, whom we�ve met, is a Fire Mage. He can create as well as control fire. Freeze is an Ice Mage, who can freeze objects as well as create ice shards. Skye is an Air Mage who has control over the winds. Drake is one type of Earth Mage who can manipulate an objects density, mass, or weight,� Paolo reads and explains. �And the list goes one a bit more.�

�Let me see,� Kate takes the book and reads on. �Ivy is the other type of Earth Mage that has control over plant life. Shock is a Thunder Mage who can fire bolts of electricity. Aquamarine is a Water Mage and she controls water, but cannot create it. Silver is a Dark Mage, she controls shadows and can create complete darkness over an area.�

�And how are we supposed to fight them?� Tom asks. �They seem to be a lot more powerful than we are. I don�t think we can fight them just yet.�

�We won�t. We need time to develop our powers for now. We still need our training. But we will fight them if we encounter them. Try to hold them off as much as we can,� Paolo explains.

�They do have one weakness, as a whole I mean. They don�t like to work together, they would rather fight as individuals to show who the strongest one from the group is,� Carlo explains to the group.

�How do you know this?� Vinny asks.

�I have gone up against them before. They are really powerful, but like everyone else, they have their weaknesses and flaws.�

�Chris can you heal us? After, we all need to rest. We need to be ready for anything. Especially the Elementals,� Matt suggests.

�Good Idea,� Diane agrees.
