My story:

I was born one snowy Saturday at 11:22 pm to proud parents who didn't know what they were getting themselves into.  Click here to read Mom and Dads first reactions of me.   I was a breech baby and thus had to be sea sectioned out.  Apparently I've been stubborn since birth.  Who knew?  Sorry about that mom!

Fame came early in life for me.  In fact I don't even remember my 15 minutes.  I was the first girl born during Girl Scout Week so the local troop presented me with a hand made quilt.  Lucky me!  Too bad it wasn't One Million Dollars (said in a Dr. Evil voice).  But hey, I got my picture in the paper.  Read all about it here.

In the mid 80's I embarked on my professional student career when I started kindergarten at O.L.M.C. - Click here for kindergarten class picture.  According to my Mom, I loved school.  Then again, who doesnt love kindergarten?  Its once you reach about 4th grade and the piles of homework start getting assigned that you start to rethink this whole school thing.  Our school mascot was the Crusader and our colors were blue and white.  And, yes we had to wear uniforms.  Oh the joy.  The kids at public school always thought that was funny and we became affectionately know as The Smurfs since we were dressed in blue.  It wasn't all that bad.  Blue's a nice color and who doesn't like the Smurfs?  Besides, uniforms eliminated the ever-difficult decision of What to wear today?  During my grade school and junior high experience I was a straight A student, always doing homework before playing, a standard I still live by work before fun at least 99% of the time.  Click here for 8th grade graduation class photo.

My high school years saw a continuation of straight A's.  I participated in Band played the clarinet, Yearbook was Asst. Business Mgr. my junior year and Co-Editor my senior year, and was a member of Art Club.  So yes, I could be lumped into the Geek category.  Although, my group of friends and I were some-what diverse.  We did hang out with non-Geeks from time-to-time.  Freshmen year seemed to be the most fun.  Everything was new and cool.  We could even leave campus for lunch.  However that privilege ended my sophomore year due to too many car accidents from kids trying to get to a restaurant and back before class started.  And of course this happens right when my friends and I are able to drive.  :P  My remaining HS years seemed to get blah-er and blah-er.  If it werent for my awesome friends (you know who you are), the whole experience would have sucked.  We had some great times though didnt we? Our trips to St. Louis, the slumber parties, the Smashing Pumpkins concert, the trip to Europe!  Click here for a slide show of the good times.

Next it was off to college for all that higher edju-ma-cation stuff.  I started out at a community college, John A. Logan (JALC).  Instead of the typical 2 year stay it turned into 4 years, but hey I got two associates out of it - one in Science and the other in Computer Information Systems.  To finish up my degree I transferred to Southern Illinois University (SIU).  It was more my idea of "college" than JALC was.  I met some great people, had some shitty class, but also some good ones.  Then finally after 6 long years (that's JALC + SIU or 19 years if you count from kindergarten) I graduated college with a BA in Information Systems Technologies.  Phew!  Ive finally got that priceless piece of paper.

And, that pretty much brings us up to speed.  Nothing very interesting has happened lately.  Although, I'm proud to announce that I recently completed my first solo web project for money.  I designed and built a new web site for Cypress Creek National Wildlife Refuge in Ullin, IL.  And now I working on a similar site for Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge in Marion, IL.  I'll let you know when it goes live.  In the meantime Im on a semi-quest (which means I need a full time job but I'm not looking very hard) for long hours with little pay and lots of stress in other words, that evil 4-letter word... WORK.

Still want to learn more about me?  Of course you do.  Don't deny it.  After all, who wouldn't?  So hop on over to my Favorites page now.
