Aragorn is the heir to the throne of Gondor. He is a direct descendent of Isildur but was raised in Rivendell by Lord Elrond when his father was killed by orcs. When he came of age, he became a ranger, protecting the people of Middle-earth from the growing darkness of Sauron. He pledges himself to the protection of Frodo to help destroy the ring of power and becomes the leader of the fellowship when Gandalf falls into shadow. He travels with Legolas and Gimli to rescue Merry and Pippin when they are captured by orcs. He fights in the Battle of Helms Deep and the Battle of Pelennor Fields. After victory over the forces of evil, Aragorn is crowned and assumes his throne at Minas Tirith, marrying Arwen Evenstar. He dies at an old age and passes the throne to his son, Eldarion. |
