Uses: Simulation
and
evaluation of water quality
along
1-D
steady
river reaches;
also teaching courses
relative to environment and pollutant transport. |
*
River Self-Purification Modeling (AguaRio 2.0) is a
simple
numerical
tool,
developed based on the first order reaction of BOD (Biological Oxygen
Demand) and
the
modified Streeter and Phelps equation, in order to determine
the variations of DO (Dissolved Oxygen) and of BOD along the studied river
reaches.
*
The software, operated on Windows-based environment, considers
various impacts of environmental factors, such as the different type of
discharges (concentrated/punctual discharge source, tributary contribution
and distributed discharge source), nitrogenous BOD, BOD sedimentation,
photosynthetic production and benthic demand of oxygen.
*
The software can be used to model the DO profile, with the aim to
simulate, improve and manage the water quality and
also
the alternative assessment and analysis of pollutant treatment
engineering. |
