Second Quarter 2002 Meeting -- Lair No. 3

Lair No. 3 met on Friday, June 14, 2002, for an informal research update. The evening's program opened with Michael Moscherosch who gave an interesting exposition of the history and eradication of the Thugi, a murderous Indian cult of bandits who did in their victims with a neck kerchief knotted with a rupii.

Michael was followed by Allen Surdyke who discussed his addiction to hot sauce. He elucidated the chemistry of hot sauce, revealed the secret of the Scovill scale, and reported on the physiological effects of the sauce on the human digestive tract. He brought many samples of various hot sauce, the most extreme having a 500,000 Scovill rating.

Ray Hull discussed his affection for Absynth, a wormwood-laced liquor that is illegal in the United States and several other countries as a result of its psychoactive and madness-producing effects. We sampled two bottles of the poison and began to babble incoherently about ways to get the name of the RR&R into the pages of The National Enquirer.

Dan Morrison gave a final presenation on the Bethlehem Steel F. C., an area of research that he has explored for nearly three years. Members of Lair No. 1 were given the long version of this story some while ago.
