Ron DiOrio, RR&R #33


Ron DiOrio was admitted to Lair #1 of the RR&R on September 28, 1996. Ron completed his Rascal Challenge at the 1st Quarter 2001 meeting of Lair No. 1. He won the Jonathan Z. Landgraf Prize at the 2001 Lair No. 1 Mass Challenge. At the 2002 Pittsburgh Rascals Ball, he was named Rascal o' the Year. At the 2002 Lair No. 1 Mass Challenge, he won his second Jonathan Z. Landgraf Prize.

Ron died on January 19, 2018. He was born July 27, 1949, in Washington, Pennsylvania, a son of the late August and Dorothy Riddle DiOrio. Mr. DiOrio served in the Peace Corps, traveling to Afghanistan. He was a teacher, substituting mostly for Burgettstown School District. Mr. DiOrio was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Burgettstown, where he had taught for the CCD program. He was interested in family history and genealogy and was a World War II historian and a numismatist. Ron is survived by his two sons, Aaron DiOrio of Tillson, N.Y., and Alexei DiOrio of Buffalo, N.Y.,
