This Mass Challenge meeting was held on June 8, 1996 at Max's Allegheny Tavern. The 1996 Mass Challenge consisted of the each Rascal writing his name on a sheet of paper, the first and the last names were then cut apart and the pieces of papers mixed up in a hat. Rascals withdrew random combinations of first and last names. Dan Morrison won the challenge this year, with a video presentation about Jeffrey Scheer, a welder living in New Bremen, Ohio. The McGeoy Bitter Cup went to runner-up Barry Lavery for his presentation on XYZ. This Mass Challenge, in conjunction with Dan Morrison's poor judgment, lead to the infamous Donald Wolfson debacle and the subsequent unfortunate resignation of Jeffrey Sivek and the creation of the Rascal Defense Fund.
