The Place I Call Home
by Robin D. Bower (1988)
I've been so many places....so many times

I've seen so many faces....some weren't too kind

I've had so many friends.....I've left them all behind

To see see if this world....had any peace for me to find

There is but one special place......I will never forget

And as I think of it.......my eyes become wet

It's the place I was born......the place I call home

It's a place I feel happy.......with freedom to roam
I remember walking the highway........at four in the morning

Higher then a kite........ singing as loud as we could sing

I remember the smiles........ones shared with my friends

When we all had dreams of lifes never end

We were so carefree......thinking only of the present

We never thought of the places we had never seen or ever been
I remember sitting in the restaurant.......the whole crowd was there

We didn't have a care in the world............not a care

I also remember the peacefulness.........the quite and serenity

There are days I long for that feeling of being totally free

This small town I am from......wasn't a pleasure palace

It surely beats the city......and this rat race

Every soften I'll remember this place I call home

Cause that's the place my most enjoyable memories come from
