Daily Program: Children function best and are most comfortable in an organized and structured program.  They always like to know what takes place next.  It is their way of telling time and keeping track of the day's events.  For this reason, the program at Eagles Nest Academy flows in a predictable manner.  This enables the child to always know what will take place next. Children have short attention spans but love repetition.  Knowing this, the daily program is divided into short repetitive periods of instruction intertwined with games, poems, singing, and storytelling to retain the child's interest and attention.  This takes place in an enjoyable setting without pressure. Each day children will do three different activity papers during class.  These are evaluated and then sent home so the parents can monitor the daily progress of their child. Computer literacy is taught through the use of children's software programs which are both fun and educational.  Each child has the opportunity to have hands-on experience with the computer.  It is also used as a reward when appropriate.

Homework:  Homework is sent home periodically so the parent can have an active part in their child's learning experience.  For those who return the completed work to school the next day, recognition is given for a job well done.  Elementary students are expected to complete their homework on time. Every child in the school attends specialized reading circles.  Here, they are taught how to read phonetically.  Each circle emphasizes a particular aspect of reading.  As they master the skills taught in one circle they advance to the next level.  This highly successful method enables each child to progress at an individually established pace.

Religious instruction: Daily religious instruction is given.  It is nondenominational and includes teaching the children the Lord's Prayer, the 23rd Psalm, the Ten Commandments, and a short Bible lesson.

Nap time: After lunch, all preschool children have a rest period.  Parents are to provide a 2" rest-mat for their child. A small blanket or stuffed animal may be brought as long as it fits in the child's backpack.

Before And After School Care: Eagles Nest Academy will be happy to provide before and after school care for grammar school children who are not enrolled at ENA, when needed.  We do not offer transportation so arrangements would have to be made.  Students would need to be registered and pay the first and last week tuition.  Vacations and absenteeism would be handled as for other students.  If care is needed for a child all day when the public school is closed, arrangements can be made with the office.

School Closings: We will announce any weather related school closings on WAKM (AM950).  If for some reason school is closed in the middle of the day, someone will stay until you or an authorized person can come pick up your child.

Conferences:  Parents are welcome to set up conferences with the teacher before or after class time and with the administrator any time.  All conferences are to be scheduled in advance through the office.

Discipline:   A positive system of praise, encouragement, and rewards is the standard policy. If anyfurther action is needed, it will consist of a warning, a time out, the loss of a privilege, and if necessary a note or call home.

Admissions:  Eagles Nest Academy has an open enrollment policy.  Children are admitted as space allows without regard to race, religion, or nationality.

Withdrawal:  Eagles Nest Academy must receive written notice two weeks prior to a child's withdrawal and all fees and charges must be paid in order for the last week's tuition to be refunded.

INSURANCE
Eagles Nest Academy maintains public liability insurance to cover any unforeseen accidents or injuries that may occur on the school grounds.

MEDICAL/SICKNESS

Illnesses:  If your child becomes ill at school, he/she will be taken to the office, and you will be called to come and get him/her.

Medications:   Please NOTE  Eagles Nest Academy  will NO longer administer medication of any kind. Because of the new single (24 hour) and double (12 hour) dosage medications available and the increasing liability involved in giving medication, the staff at ENA will not administer any prescription or over the counter medicine to students. If you must give medication to your child, you may come and give it any time!

Eagles Nest Academy will be offering a prepackaged meal service. See the preschool tuition page.

Dress Code Policy: All children are to dress modestly. Clothing must be both weather and school appropriate. Boys are required to have short and appropriate hair cuts. Boys may not wear earrings and any necklaces must be inside their shirt.
