GOODBYE VENTILATOR
No more ventilator !!! On October 20th, Emma came off the ventilator. A huge milestone for her. It was a time of "holding our breaths", because often they have to go back on the vent if they can't breath on their own. But Emma said, "NO WAY am I going back on that thing!"
She was put on a CPAP (a contraption that forces air into your lungs through your nose). It was obvious that the CPAP thing was bothering Emma also, because it was only a short 6 days later when she graduated to the nasal canula...much, much more comfortable (not to mention a step closer to being able to come home). YEA!! |
