EMERGEN SYSTEMS

Designed to allow hospitals, physicians and emergency trauma centers the access to a patient's emergency personal medical history all contained on a single optical memory card.  This health passport card stores patient demographic information as well as diagnostic quality X-rays, MRI, CT and ultra-sound images, lab tests, pharmacy records, EKG and EEG, emergency, ICU, and other medical history data.  The health passport card can hold over 2,000 typed pages and is updateable with no loss to existing information.

The Health Passport Card by Emergen Systems manages health care costs by providing:

  • Accurate and available baseline patient demographic information, providing increased accuracy of patient information,  reducing errors in billing and communication with other providers.
  • Accurate and available baseline patient medical information (allergies, blood typing, cardiac-vascular tests/results, etc.) reducing the need to run redundant lab and other tests.
  • Accurate and available emergency treatment data providing for instantaneous access to critical emergency information and increasing the speed and efficiency of treatment.
  • Accurate and available prescription information reducing the need for redundant prescriptions and decreasing the chances of inappropriate drug prescriptions.
  • Accurate and available care instructions including donor notification, treatment preferences and "Living Will" information, increasing the efficiency of care.

Key Benefits

  • Benefit 1: The patient demographics includes a selection of any or all of digital pictures, signatures, voice prints, finger prints, hand geometry, and extensive biographic data. These features eliminate the need to recapture demographics at each visit and assure that only authorized patients use legitimate cards; only for authorized insurance coverage.

  • Benefit 2:  The medical history includes documentable information regarding visits, diagnosis, treatments, surgical and diagnostics procedures, allergies, medication history.

  • Benefit 3:  The card system security prevents unauthorized access to information and it prevents attempted fraudulent use of an unauthorized card, a modified card, or by someone other than the authorized cardholder.  Separating and classifying individual files by security levels also assures access to only those having a legitimate need to know. This offers insurance companies the opportunity to incorporate changeable information such as basic personal history, emergency medical information, accounting data, and other blocks of information pertinent to specific applications, but with access selectively authorized.
