Praise God!

See comments

(This part of chapter 19 shows us the spiritual side of the events described in the last chapter. Spirits watch and influence human history and comment on the events.)

After this I heard what sounded like the roar of a great crowd in heaven
(spirits and souls)
shouting, "Praise God! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God,

(2) because true and just are his judgments. He has condemned the Great Prostitute
(Britannia as a symbol for our "Western" Civilization and world culture, see chapter 17)
who corrupted the earth by her immorality.
(See 13:3, 14:8, 17:2, 18:3.)
He has taken revenge on her, because she killed his servants."
(In the 16th and 17th century many people in England were executed for religious reasons, see 17:6 and 18:24.)

(3) And again they shouted, "Praise God! The smoke from the flames that destroy the great city goes up for ever and ever."
(The disasters predicted to strike our world, particularly Britain and London will be remembered for thousands of years to come, see 14:11and chapter 18.)

(4) The twenty-four elders
(Lesser spiritual beings associated with God's power, the number 24, as the hours in a day, may suggest that they have a special significance for time, see 11:16.)
and the four living creatures
(the spirits of the four elements)
fell down and worshipped God, who was sitting on the throne. And they cried, "Amen, praise God!"

The Wedding of the Lamb

(Predictions show us possibilities how history can evolve. If the pleasant possibilities are not developed, less pleasant ones will apply. I believe the Wedding of the Lamb has been cancelled.)

(5) Then a voice was heard coming from the throne, and it said, "Praise our God, all his servants, you who fear him, both great and small!"

(6) Then I heard what sounded like a great crowd, like the roar of a waterfall and like loud claps of thunder. They were shouting, "Praise God! For the Lord God Almighty rules.
(The Kingdom of God has come see, people live according to divine morals, see 11:15.)

(7) Let us celebrate and be glad and give him praise! For the time of the wedding of the Lamb
(the politician who forces the morals and principles of Jesus into power, later in this chapter mentioned as The Rider on the White Horse, see 11:15, 17:14, 19:11.)
has come, and his bride has prepared herself.

(8) She was given white, bright and clean linen to wear."
(She qualified by her good deeds, see 22:17.)
(White linen stands for the good acts of God's people.)
(See 3:4, 6:11, 19:14.)

(9) Then the angel said to me, "Write: Happy are those who are invited to the wedding celebration of the Lamb!"
(The friends and supporters of the "Rider on the White Horse".)
And he added, "These are the very words of God."

(10) At this I fell down at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, "Don't do that! I am a servant just like you
(Prophets like Jesus should not be worshipped. It is their teachings that need to be obeyed in politics, where it matters, see 22:8.)
and like your brothers who hold to the teachings of Jesus. Worship God! For the teachings of Jesus are the inspiration for the prophets."
