Proverbs Chapter 25

There were many pragmatic points made in this chapter.  Some were simple as, "Hast thou found honey?  Eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be filled therewith, and vomit it"  (Pr 25:16).  Take what will suffice, anything more is unnecessary and would result in negative consequences.  Another was funny, "It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman and in a wide house" (Pr 25:24).  I felt Pr 25:27 tugging on my heart, "It is not good to eat much honey: so for men to search their own glory is not glory."  As Luke 14:11 states, "For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted."  There is nothing that we have received that was not given as a gift through the grace and mercy of God.  So how can I glory in myself when I just faithfully accepted and allowed God to perform His majesty through me?  The very air that I breathe is a testament to God's magnificence and the possibility of that action alone is a blood-bought possibility through the Son, Jesus Christ, who was sacrificed in my stead so that I may live eternally.  Pr 18:12 reveals the destruction of man following his pride.  So what can I do?  Adore God for the blessings He has bestowed upon me, faithfully serve Him, and pray that He will direct me in paths that He has set for me so that I may be able to glorify Him more through the divine power He has imparted unto me through the Holy Ghost.
