| This is a T-34 Tank of the Russian artillery. This tank was popular because of it's simple design making it easy to mass produce and repair quickly. They were armed with a basic 85mm turret in the center as the primary weapon, and two smaller 7.62mm machine guns on the sides. It had proven less powerful and strong than the German Panther or Tiger Tanks, but it beat them with sheer numbers. The T-34 Tanks' suspension systems were designed to be like the American Christie Tank. The tank was not very stealthy, even for a tank, it can be heard from 450-500m away. The big advantage for the T-34 though was its speed. It could get up to 32mph (55km/h) where most other tanks at this time averaged at only 25mph. |
