He married (2) on 19 Oct 1601 in Watton-At-Stone, Herstfordshire, England, to Joan Kirby, daughter of John Kirby and Joan Cranfield. Joan Kirby was of the parish of Little Munden, Herstfordshire, England, and that was probably the place of her birth, and probably of his birth as well, but the registers of Little Munden, prior to 1680, have been lost.

Thomas Hale

THOMAS HALE was born on 15 May 1606 in Watton-At-Stone, Hertsfordshire, England, baptized on 15th June 1606 at the Watton parish church, and died on 21 Dec 1682 in Newbury, Littleton, Massachusetts. He married on 11 Dec 1632 in St. Helens, Bishopsgate, London, England to Thomasine Dowsett, daughter of Gabriel Dowsett and Mercy ---.

Thomas immigrated to Newbury, Massachusetts from England in 1635. Francis Kirby, his uncle, introduced him to Governor Winthrop. On 10 Aug 1638, Thomas Hale and John Baker were "appointed haywards".

The Hale family moved to Haverhill, Massachusetts in 1645, where Thomas was a land owner, a selectman in 1646, and in 1647 chosen by the town "to try small causes". In 1648 he was appointed to keep a ferry and in 1649 was elected constable, the first chosen in Haverhill. He returned to Newbury in 1652 and in 1657 moved to Salem, Massachusetts, where he remained until shortly before his death. In 1659 his name appears in the "Annals of Salem".

John Hale

JOHN HALE was born either on 03 Jun 1635 in Watton Stone, Hertfordshire, England and christened on 19 Apr 1636 at Watton Stone, Hertfordshire, England or was born on 19 Apr 1635 in Newbury, Essex, Massachusetts. He died on 02 Jun 1707 in Newbury, Littleton, Massachusetts. John was known as Sergeant John of Newbury, house-carpenter, housewright, etc.

He married on 05 Dec 1660 to (1) Rebecca Lowell, daughter of Richard (Lowle) (Percivall) Lowell. Rebecca was born on 26 Jan 1642 in Newbury and died 01 June 1662. John married (2) on 08 Dec 1663 in Newbury, Littleton, Massachusetts, to Sarah Somerby, daughter of Henry Somerby and Judith Greenleaf. Sarah was born on 10 Feb 1663 in Newbury and died in June of 1672. John married (3) ca.1673 to Sarah Symonds, daughter of the Hon. Samuel (Symondel) Symonds of Ipswich and Dorothy Harlakenden. Sarah was born ca 1636 and died on19 Jan 1698-99. She was probably a widow, as Robert Ring, Senr. of Salisbury, by his will made in 1688 bequeaths a two-year-old heifer to "Will Cottle, son to Sarah, now wife of John Hale of Newbury, and an owe and a lambe to Joanna, dau of said Sarah, when they come of age respectively."

There are numerous deeds dating from 15 Oct 1661 - John and wife, Sarah, of Newbury, to 23 Sep 1700 - John received from son, Henry and wife, Sarah, of Newbury, deed of Plumb Island lot and meadow in Salisbury.

Henry Hale

HENRY HALE was born on 20 Oct 1666 in Newbury, Littleton, Massachusetts, and died in Newbury, Littleton, Massachusetts before 23 Nov 1724, when the administration of his estate was granted to his eldest son, Thomas. Henry married on 11 Sep 1695 in Newbury, Littleton, Massachusetts to Sarah Kelley, daughter of John Kelley and Sarah Knight.

On 6 Nov 1695, Henry received from his father "when about to be married, half his house, barn, shop and land adjoining," etc, "provided he maintain the grantor," etc. "provided if grantor's son Henry should not leave any children," etc., the estate to go to grantor's other children.
On 07 Oct 1696, Henry deeded to his brother, John, 2 1/2 acres of meadow
On 09 Feb 1699-1700, Henry received from his father, John, deed of all his real estate, provided he maintain, etc., to come in possession of one-half then and one-half at decease of his father.
On 23 Sep 1700, Henry quit-leased to his father, lot 26, Plumb Island meadow, receiving from him Dowes meadow in Salisbury

On 26 Feb 1710, Henry Hale of Newbury, "house carpenter" and Thomas Moody and Judith his wife, formerly Judith Hale, "son and dau. of Sarah Somerby, wife of John Hale, late of Newb., decd, dau. of Henry Somerby and Judith, his wife, the only surviving heirs of said Sarah Hale, alias Somerby, "deeded to Josiah Clarke of Boston, "taylor", all their right in the estate of their grandfather Henry S., decessed.
On 14 Feb 1715-16, Henry and wife Sarah sold to Benjamin Chase of Newbury, weaver, land in Newbury.
On 13 Nov 1716 (acknowledged 26 Sept 1717) Henry deeded to Joseph Gerrish of Newbury, the 77th lot in the 5th division of wood lots, 17 a. it being 3 rods, 7 feet, 4 inches in breadth, and estimated 781 rods lond," wh. lot was laid out to ye freehold right of Thos. Hale and ye rate right of my Hon father Mr. John Hale;" conveyed also lands to John Greeleaf, Jr.
On 22 July 1717, Henry sold lands to Nathaniel Merrill of Newbury, and 11 June 1718 to Roger Stevens of Amesbury, marsh in Salisbury formerly owned by Francis Dow.
On 10 Dec 1719, to John Emery, 3d, of Newbury, 22 March 1713-14; to Cutting Noyes, Jr. Aug 1715 acknowledged Feb 1717-18; to John Atkinson, 20 June 1716. He took deed of lands of Nicholas Noyes, Senr., 6 Aug 1715, and of John Little, 25 May 1718.

Henry apparently died without a will. The administration of his estate was granted to his eldest son, Thomas, on. 23 Nov 1724. On 22 March 1725-26, Joseph Hale, an uncle, was appointed the guardian of Henry and Enoch Little was appointed the guardian of Hannah and Judith. Receipts were given to Thomas, administrator, as follows: On 21 Nov 1727, Hannah, then wife of Ezra Pilsbury, acknowledges receipt of her portion, on 26 Jun 1727 by Beth, widow, on 1 Mar 1726-27 by Peter and Tamson Morse, on 5 Mar 1728, Henry, by his uncle and guardian Joseph, on 5 Nov 1728 by Stephen and Sarah Chase, Edmond and Judith by guardian Enoch Little, and on 5 Mar 1728 by Ezra and Hannah Pilsbee.

Henry Hale

HENRY HALE was born on 24 Aug 1707 in Newbury, Littleton, Massachusetts, and died on 21 May 1792, '84 years and 9 months'. in Hudson, Hillsboro, New Hampshire. He married on 21 May 1730 in Newbury, Littleton, Massachusetts to Mary Barnette, daughter of Richard Barnette and Margaret Woodman. Mary was born on 02 March 1709 and died on 8 Dec 1787, '78 years, 9 months and 6 days'. Henry and Mary lived in matrimony for 57 years, 6 months and 15 days.

“Deacon Henry Hale, formerly of Newbury, MA, moved from Littleton, MA to Nottingham West (now Hudson), NH probably in the spring of 1749, his name appearing in the tax list for the first time on 8 Aug 1749. He owned a large farm at what is now Hudson Centre. Built that spring, and lived in a shanty; post set in the ground; same summer built a small house, in which he lived seven years; then built a house now standing and owned by D. M. Greeley.”

John Hale

JOHN HALE was born in March of 1730-32 in Littleton, Massachusetts, and died in September of 1803 in Lebanon, New Hampshire. He married on 17 Sep 1762 in Nottingham West Township, Hillsboro, New Hampshire to Sarah Hills, daughter of Nathaniel Hills and Ann Worm, and widow of --- Severance.

John died at an inn in Lebanon, New Hampshire in September of 1803, while on his way from Turnbridge to visit his sons in Grafton, New Hampshire. He was found in the morning dead in his bed having gone to bed the night before apparently in good health. His widow, Sarah, died in September of 1807 while living with one of her sons in Grafter, New Hampshire.

John signed of the Association Test on 03 June 1776. His signature is found in Volume VIII, page 262, Nottingham West (now Hudson) New Hampshire. "We, the subscribers, do hereby solemnly engage, and promise, that we will, to the utmost of our Power, at the Risque of our Lives and Fortunes, with Arms, oppose the Hostile Proceedings of the British Fleets and Armies, against the United American Colonies." All males about 21 years of age were to sign the Declaration.

Sewell – Sewall Hale

SEWELL - SEWALL HALE was born on 13 Dec 1791 in Nottingham West Township, Hillsboro, New Hampshire, died on 28 Apr 1847 in Adams County, Illinois, and was buried at Richland "Cook" Cemetery, east of Payson, Illinois, Lot 64, next to wife Sarah and 3 grandchildren. His tombstone is inscribed d 5 April 1847 -- 55y 4m. He married on 13 Dec 1791 in Grafton, Grafton County, New Hampshire or Nottingham West Township, Hillsboro, New Hampshire to Sarah ‘Sally’ Smart, daughter of Charles Smart and Silence Gardner. Sarah was born in July of 1794 in Grafton, Grafton County, New Hampshire andwas buried in Richland "Cook" Cemetery, Payson, Illinois. Her tombstone reads that she is the wife of Sewall, and was 52 y. 11m and 6d when she died.

George Henry Hale

GEORGE HENRY HALE was born 01 September 1851 in Kentucky, died on 11 March 1920 in Burkburnette, Wichita County, Texas and was buried in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was married by Rev. J.H. Bonebrake from Lecomption, Kansas, on 27 November 1878 in Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas to Sarah Ellen Rose, daughter of Alexander Rose and Susan Murphy. Sarah was born on 26 Sep 1859 in Vernon County, Missouri, died on 6 Jul 1933 in Stillwater, Payne County, Oklahoma and is buried in Fairlawn Cemetery, Stillwater. In 1890, George moved to Payne County, Oklahoma and in 1911 to Stillwater.
