Critically acclaimed drummer Martin G is one of many of Australia's up and coming drummers situated on the Northern Beaches of Sydney. Martin just recently hit the local music scene with his innovative "Junkyard Drum Kit" inspired by his teacher the great Chris Brien, and documentaries as well as life experiences.

Martin first started playing drums back in year 4 at primary school (W.H.P.S.) and joined the award winning school band. Although he was forced by friend Alex C to come join the band at the sign up day, he couldn't play any pitch orientated instruments or ones that required a reed, so drums was basically the only option. Martin was in the stage band, and later into the concert band in 1999.

In 2000, high school came and Martin joined the junior concert band, which was a short lasting venture and the band concluded after only one year. This drew Martin away from drums and he focused more on sports being at a sports high school. Then two great friends Matt C. and Colm K. got together and formed a punk styled band called "Endless Possibilities" or the colloquial term "EP" (but unlike the name, the band was nothing but endless). However it was a good experience giving them many performance opportunities and developed local music scene skills.

However the fate of the band was over as Josh moved schools making way for a new band which is still around today known as "Stand Clear" (which was originally founded by Dylan and Garrith). The band later recouped Chris and Dave from Manly High to fulfill the band. The band worked extremely hard, often practising everyday after school and after only one and a half months of jamming entered the Northern Composure Band Competition 2005 and came away with 3rd place which is a great effort considering the average age of the band was 15 and 19 year olds could enter. Stand Clear won a 3 track recording deal with Continuum Music and Martin played the drum tracks for the three original songs.
Martin then began giving drum lessons to school students around 2004-2005. Due to school commitments and a more drum solo orientated approach Martin quit the band "Stand Clear". Martin worked hard on his HSC performance pieces and developed the junkyard drum kit where he composed 2 pieces "Warfront" and "Palitos". Martin has played at many school functions, including a 1 minute and 9 second applause at a school assembly. Then Martin performed his piece at the Northern Beaches Schools Music Festival in front of 900 people and recieved an accolade of good reviews. Much recognition must be given to Brad Hobbs (Martin's old teacher), Chris Brien (Martin's current teacher) and Mrs. Augustyniak
Then singing sensation Josh, imported from England started a new band called "The Slips" with younger guitarists James H and Dylan B. They played a couple of good gigs including the iconic "Hard Act to Follow" incident at the school talent quest, which ironically was a hard act to follow.
