
  
  
Born in Panama, received the B.Sc. in Electrical and Mechanical Enbineering degree from the University of Panama (1982) and MSc Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington (1983).
In 1979 he joined IRHE, Panamanian electrical utility, as Student Assistant and later as Planning Engineer, until 1990 when he became Chief of Transmission and Distribution Planning responsible for the preparation of the entire system expansion plans.
In 1992, he joined the Panama Canal Commission, an United States Federal Government Agency responsible for operation of the Panama Canal; later transferred to the administration of the Panamanian Government (1999). He worked at the Engineering Division as a design engineer and later in the Electrical Division as an electrical engineer now Energy Division where he presently holds the Section Manager position.
He provides services as consultant for transmission, distribution and generation projects; electrical design for residential, commercial and industrial installations. He also worked as part-time professor at Panama Technological University.
He has papers on power systems expansion plans, protective relaying interconnection schemes, distribution protection, O&M Strategies, and others, presented in major conferences in Latin America and US, and published in technical magazines.
Mr. Tejera has been married for 21 years to Carmen, lovely wife, with whom he has shared the magic experience of being parents of their three wonderful boys Diego, David and Daniel.
He enjoys movies, sports and music, especially when there is a guitar or a piano available to play, sing and share moments with friends, family or just by himself.
