Color
Therapy & the Chakras
The chakras are the energy centers of the
body. There are seven main chakras, which are linked to particular
glands in the body and effect how those glands function and influence
the rest of the body. These energy centers are sensitive to the
light and color vibrations around us.
There are many old and new age practices centered around balancing the chakras through meditating with different colored crystals, lights, oils, imagery, and mantras. Whatever, the philosophy behind these practices scientific studies have shown them to be effective.
Try
color therapy on your own by placing the following colors on the
body parts show in the above illustration. Then focus on balancing
and moderating the corresponding aspects in your life.
The 7 Chakras: Red=root:
survival & grounding, orange=sacral:
sexuality, reproduction,& creativity yellow=solar
plexus: will power & emotions, green=heart:
love, blue=throat:
communication & expression,
indigo=3rd
eye: spiritual sight & intuition, and violet=crown:
universal consciousness.
