I have a Voice

Voice, What voice?
It’s been so long since I hear my own.
For fear of loss, I fear all I love,
My art, my family, religion
And most of all courage.

God give me courage,
To own the power within me,
To move the hearts of people
From their chests into their loins
From where their children come,
Where their hungers reside,
Where necessity begs for change.

I want to scream out to the world
Love your children!
For they are not yours.
They belong to the world
And will become the world.
You have no right to tear them down.

I want to scream out for the Earth
Restore me!
For my powers to destroy you
With flood and fire, winds and shaking ground
Are My only powers to heal Me!

I want to scream out with God
See Me!
I am so near inside you,
