As the opening act on a night of bands and singer song writers, EarlGrey took the stage for their first gig. Infront of a relativaly large crowd (considering the gig started at around 8 o'clock) made up primarily of friends and well wishers, EarlGrey played a 40 minute set made up of a couple of their own songs as well as a collection of covers. Taking full advantage of the small scale nature of the gig, Niall took a chance to play off the unsuspecting audience, making the most of occasional slip ups (see: briefly forgetting the chords in Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground) and even managed to get a couple of laughs from some of his impromtu banter. Aidan was in outstanding form as well, playing a couple of killer drums solos in the closing number Let's Build a Home. The extended double header of White Stripes covers that closed the set were truly a highlight, which included the first ever EarlGrey call and respond. Other highlights include the hard rock medely of Castaway and Hour of the Day, a pair of songs played later in the night in their original form by friend's of the band Maurice Burns, Darragh Nugent and Scott in their band Drive.
