The Vineyard,
Hill Farm is one of the future premier wine producing areas in North America, with long term goals of producing the highest quality wines.
The Southern New England region currently produces a remarkable variety of wines such as Chardonnay, Vidal, Sparkling White, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and many more. This region is able to accomplish award winning wines due to the microclimate. In fact, most of the famous European winemaking regions occur in the cooler climates of Burgundy, Champagne, and the Rhine.
Hill Farm Vineyard is located on a 160 acre antebellum farm in Western Coventry. Chardonnay clones No. 96 & 75 were the first grapes were planted on April 17, 1999, composing two acres. The vineyard posts were placed in the ground throughout the fall and the winter pruning began in early March 2000.
Hill Farm Vineyard and family are looking forward toward a successful second year. Enjoy the photos and if you have questions please feel free to contact Us.
Sincerely,
David R. Wright
