Justice League

The big three; Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman, had always been the foundation of this group.

The color and style added by Green Lantern, Flash, Martian Manhunter, Aquaman, Hawkman, and later by Green Arrow, Black Canary and the Atom only enhanced this unique union.

DC's treatment of many of these stalwarts has been wasteful, to the point of stupidity. Perhaps this new series will redress some of the misuse.

Avengers

Since the early 60's this has been a revolutionary team. Personnel changes, in characters and creative staff has allowed for triumphs and travesties.

From the addition and evolution of Hawkeye, the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver to the complete destruction of Doctor Druid. Later Wanda and Pietro were to be likewise mangled. Wonderman, Hercules and Moondragon fared no better.

A union of interplanetary heroes.

Thunderbolts Villains masquerading as heroes.

They're mutants and they're misunderstood. Nuff said?

Alpha Flight

Canadian heroes. Sometimes government approved, often not.

Fantastic Four ... One calm scientist -always reaching outward. One beautiful woman-an intellect hidden by appearance. One ace pilot- with a monsterous temper. One hotshot teenager.
Touched by cosmic rays, and forever changed.
They are Reed Richards-Mr Fantastic, Susan Storm -The Invisible Woman, Ben Grimm-The Thing, and Johnny Storm-The Human Torch.
