In the last few years some of the greatest heroes have been dealt crushing blows by villians so heinous that even Dr Doom can't compete.
Heroes have been killed, crushed and reformed, broken like ragdolls and left on the heap of discarded playthings.
This is an attempt to bring light to this MISUSE OF HEROES.

A hero's actions are timeless and universal echoes, resonating through history by bestowing meaning upon life.
The authentic hero is concerned with the dignity and significance of man in confrontation with mortal fate - he challenges life to yield new, forever higher possibilities.
Heroes inspire life; they are by their example a spur and catalyst for the living.

Anonymous 323 B.C.

A superhero/superheroine is one who is gifted with ability beyond that of average humans.
Having enhanced mental and/or physical abilities, they also have greater responsibilities. A true hero is defined by how he/she uses these talents.

Where do they come from?

Who are they?

What are they good for?

Dog food, landfill, speed bumps ...
"Hey Lex, get away from that keyboard!"
Jeez, you wouldn't think a little hair loss would upset a guy so much.
A hero's existence is limited. Just ask Robin Hood.
A hero in the mainstream is a has been. Just ask Douglas MacArthur, George Patton,Michael Jordan(?)

When did they first appear?

At the dawn of time ... weren't you paying attention?

Why are they necessary?

Heroes serve a basic need in the human psyche. We need to believe as much as we need to take in air, consume food, and procreate.
A hero inspires. A hero motivates.

The delightful Mary Jane Watson-Parker is as heroic and inspirational as any character in comics. Just shows that you don't need a funny suit and a weird name to do something positive.

We all need to be inspired. How does one become a hero?

You can be exposed to cosmic rays, get bitten by a radioactive spider,be the last survivor of your doomed planet, or perhaps you witness a horrific event and say "never again".

Someone's got to put on long underwear and go out and fight the good fight.
