Conan the Barbarian. From slave, to thief, to warrior,to general and finally King of Aquilonia.

Born in the wind-swept,battle-scarred wilds of Cimmeria, this barbarian is a fierce fighter, and a loyal friend. He is all too often misjudged.

He's often thought of as slow-witted and prone to violence. He's actually quite intelligent, although he may be a bit too prone to action. The physical, in preference to the mental, resolution of life's assorted difficulties is Conan's bread and butter.

Conan represents, for many young men, a power fantasy. For myself Conan has always represented a window.
A window into another reality that was opened the first time I read Red Nails.
Conan, and most fantasy, allows us to view reality in dynamic, yet sometimes subtle, ways. My first exposure to the barbarian was through the medium of Marvel's black & white comics.

Later I discovered the writings of Robert E. Howard.

The Red Witch of Acheron

You go where the winds take you.

Conan has had a difficult time in the comics medium. While it's true that comics exposed the Cimmerian to a mass audience, it's also inarguable that the medium bastardized Howard's creation.

Well, I've had my say ... what do YOU think?

Like Alexander the Great, Conan's solutions to the Gordian knots of life are direct.

The Red Witch of Acheron"I thought this was a private party?"
