RUNNING WITH PINKING SHEARS (Dec.06) The final releases of
06. With the current world state, Dud became even more political & angry! As a result many of the songs on the album deal w/ two subjects which Mr Seious hates; Bush - "Dubya Legacy", "Big Brother", "Stay the Course" & American Terrorist" and Illegal Immigration - "Get The Hell Out Of My Country",
"Anchor Babies", "Great Wall West" & "An Nation".  Other songs include the hit single "Birthmark" {about tatoos}, "Quebec", "Who Needs Peace? o6", epic "Fuller Brush Man", & a few covers; Zappa's "Jelly Roll Gumbdrop" & the Nits' "Giant Normal Dwarf".  Unfortunately, when the project began Dud thought the title was rather novel, based on an old colloquialism - only to find out theat there was a recent best seller & movie based on the saying! Oh well, we feel Dudley's title is better! Pinking Shears, possess a more jagged edge -just like the music.
HAPPY KNOT (May 07) The first release of 2007 harkened back to the earlyer more experimental sound.  Featured on the collection was "Balance" a 9 minute tone poem originally begun some 10 years earlyer.  The album also had the singel "Toaster Life" celebrating Women {making up for some bashing found on the FILLER Album.  "Ooshma" has some of Dud's heaviest electric guitar lick of his career.  "Canopy of Fate" is a musical tour de force,
with a video shot on a trip to Chicago early summer o7.
TRICYCLE  (Aug. 07) Vol.#3 of the 3 Artist Series  link here

Tribute to; Phil Ochs, Preston Sturges, Robert Heinlein

RESOLVE
? and KORG SESSIONS (Oct 07) in the fall of
the year  Dudley on his hands on a  new keyboard for a months time & set out to record 50 new tunes during this limited time.  RESOLVE featured the first 4 days output  and the KORG SESSIONS featured  some of the best of the 50 instrumentals recorded.  Many of the tunes will hopefully turn into musical basic tracks for future vocal hits
.

TEXTURAL CIPHER (Dec. 07)  Following the frantic activity of
recording the 50 new songs in less that 4 weeks , Mr Serious began
to assemble his last vocal album of 2007.  as promised several of the Korg musical beds became fully fleshed out lyical songs.
Dudley has always experimented with different musical styles and for this project decided to purposely make every song on the collection a different genre;  Jazz  w/ "Louie Blue" , Mideastern w/ "Espionage", Funk w/ "Milk of Paradise", world w/ "World's Collide", classical on "Ribbon & Bows", even Zidago w/ "Fiesta Americana".  Of course there are a few more traditional rock tunes, like; "Serendipity" & "Decolletage".    Also
featured are two guitar based tunes;  "Baby Sleeps Alone" and the latin infused "Guitar Owner".

But the most revolutionary thing about TEXTURAL CIPHER is the fact
that is the first full album released in both as a standard CD and a
Video DVD Version !    That's 15 New Videos!    The other big development of 2007 was that Mr Serious finally got new digital video
editing equipment.   Initially a few main videos were planned but while
having so much fun with the new equipmment - the videos just kept coming - so it was only natural to end up producing one for each track.
Hopefully, they are all interesting & add something to the song but of course budget constrants made some of the video rather low rent.
COLD ARE THE HANDS - 2007 Sampler
DON'T HOG YOUR JOURNEY   2008 Sampler
Since 2004 Mr. Serious has released a Year Ending Sampler of what could be called the BEST OF the year's output.
Most artist would probably only end up releasing this material on a real album-
but of course that defeats Dud's Mission Statement !  Yet, the 2007 & 2008 samplers do show Dud's 30 year development & prolific nature.
