it's a matter of color.
gray, white, right? write!!
a few landscapes try their hardest,
but they blend right in.
my favorite spots are the fire engine red fire alarm, and the green leaves of the palm against the yellow booklet atop the deep brown wood of the cabinet.
throw words around the way we move paper;
here, there, everywhere.
copy it, send it, file it, toss it, sort it, sign it,
post it, stick it, cut it, rip it, throw it away
and don't recycle.
a room full of paper stacked vertically, horizontally,
on it's side, or crumpled, or strewn, or fallen.
all this paper, all these words, all this work,
all this quiet, all this white.
grow me some grass under my feet.
show me the sky, the sun, the rain.
rain on my computer and create sparks and lightening and excitement.
let the paper soak up the rain and dissolve into the earth. the white and gray become green and blue...
the white and gray...and gray and white.
what's the matter? shouldn't it matter?
