i am an exercise in insanity.
crazy swirling thoughts of things
tossing about on the ocean of my mind.
some being flung from the cargo hold,
others lounging about on pink blowup flamingo rafts,
sipping fruity drinks with umbrellas.
and then in between, the pirates and the bourgeois
each sailing along on their respective ships,
enjoying the starry night with whiskey and champagne.
mix them all up in the ultimate superman cup
and try really hard not to be sick.
a little bit of anything, day after day,
and you're eventually immune.
i am immune to my insanity.
but you're not.
in fact, you think i'm crazy.
you don't understand how i function, and frankly, neither do i. most of the time i wonder how it is i'm not spending the day puking or passed out on the bathroom floor.
but i love my prison,
it gives me character, and keeps things interesting.
except a lot of the time i come out feeling like shit.
but it all winds up getting tossed around some more,
and the tide flows in and out
like the bullshit flows in and out of my mouth.
