Effective-Meaning: Objective-Time 1.b. CONCLUSIONS page 2 We can sum this chart as follows, based on the respective dilemmas of each quadrant. Judgment axes (clockwise from top left): Power as a reconciliation with time and choice Meaning as reconciliation Powerlessness as weakness/conflict Meaninglessness as worthlessness Context axes (clockwise from top) Powerful meaning as virtuous character Powerless meaning as coherent world Powerless meaninglessness as failure/disagreement Powerful meaninglessness as minimal capacity So we have four options: 1. Virtuous character is a reconciliation with time and choice (life-potential) A coherent world is a reconciliation with meaning Failure/disagreement is weakness/conflict Worthlessness is a capacity (The ethical-intellectual world) The meaning of reconciliation is virtuous character (judge for yourself) Powerless reconciliation is the coherent world (where there is power, potentially virtue) Meaningless weakness/conflict is failure/disagreement (dont/cant disagree/fail) Powerful worthlessness is a minimal capacity (aspire to relate with the strong/worthless) 2. Virtuous character is a reconciliation with meaning A coherent world is weakness/conflict Failure/disagreement is a capacity Worthlessness is a reconciliation with time and choice (life-potential) (The ethical-emotional world) Powerful reconciliation is virtuous character (Be honest) Weak/conflicted meaning is the coherent world (Find little meanings) Powerless worthlessness is failure/disagreement (Take charge) At least the reconciliation with time and choice is meaningless (concern yourself with happiness unless death or dilemmas seem meaningful. In that case you might want to look for a higher purpose, by addressing your concerns in language) NEXT |
