News:

8/4/2006:

I've been on an essays kick and have neglected poetry lately, which does not detract from the value of my previous work. I've made conscious efforts to recuperate my subconscious.

7/20/2006:

Alas, I'm not in the big poetry club. Maybe I'll try again when I turn 40.

5/26/2006:

I thought I'd gamble on success with the Paris Review. I know they publish the likes of Kunitz, Ashbery, etc. and perhaps I'm not well suited to the public eye. Yet I feel that there are fathoms of meanings to my recent poems which are deserving of wider scrutiny and appreciation. So I did it. Or at least I mean to. More news eventually.

3/30/2006:

I actually got a visitor to this page, according to the site statistics. Perhaps it is my brother, Brian. Or maybe they were searching for the Poets of Maine. I may not ever know. But let there be more.

The latest news on my next chapbook is that its nearly assembled--26 poems in all, greater in length on average than in my previous book. The tentative title is <Dry Weather>.

1/19/06:

It looks as though a second volume of poetry is on the way. I had originally hoped to publish it in a more mainstream way, and certainly I haven't collected a solid fifty new poems. I am excited about my prospects in writing, since I had several dreams that I could interpret as very short stories, puzzling enough that I put them to paper.

5-6/05:
My new chapbook, <Inverse Threads> is pending copyright. I also sent several recent poems to the New Yorker, a sign that my ego is playing it fast and loose. Now I may have to write to them to actually get permission to use them on this website. I'm also nervous that the DMOZ organization will claim copyright for anything I post on my website because I gave them my link to the dreams pages. Hopefully not.

Ever since I read the poem "Escape" at a bar, and wasn't given a second chance that night, I have shied away from the poetry reading scene for the most part. Although I do feel treasured, since I have managed to sell a few copies of my chapbook, and the audience at the Neverending Bookstore and at Cafe Nine have been appreciative.

His poetry is not about personal relationships or politics, but is essentially devoted to exploring the power of language to create new perspectives.
