       Day 1: We Leave!

That Tuesday was quite long, and winding day. The first 2 periods were killers, but from there it was downhill. Sorry Heather and James, but mostly Heather. But, time had come, WE WERE LEAVING FOR WILLIAMSBURG. I had prepared days before so I was set, so next stop was school, and to catch the bus. I ended up being the 4th person there. Slowly but surely, all the groups made it, however are bus was a different story. It came over half an hour late.

When it finally arrived, we all put on luggage, and boarded, my seat partner was Jon. After a stop and go start we were off. That first night was interesting. We got on I-4, and by the time we got downtown, there was a gigantic car-fire on the other side of the median, so that was interesting. Then we kept on trucking, and we made a stop at a gas station to pick up some msc. items. After about 10-20 mins. there, it was back on the road. Movies we watched going there were Remember the Titans ( That was actualy pretty good.), and Monsters Inc. ( I tried to sleep then, too tired.) past midnight. Around me people played music, cards, and just general conversation as well up until midnight. Then I only heard a few people's CDs, or tapes, oh and Alex's and Jimmy's snoring.

Sleeping on board the bus was sporadic, especially since Jon was playing music, and was bent on staying up the entire night (F.Y.I, he failed, he got 2 hours of sleep.). I found myself waking up at every stop, wether it be for the mandatory by law stops, or when they switched off bus drivers at Lafayetteville N.C. I myself got about 4 hours of sleep, Kristen in the row in front of me didn't fair much better.

From there it was breakfast at McDonalds near Williamsburg. We spent about 30 mins there. Then it was off to Colonial Williamsburg, a very beautiful place. When we arrive, we depart, and prepare for a long day of walking. After freshing up, we got instructions, clipboards, and work and we were off. First a nice walk into Colonial Williamsburg, via a timeline bridge. Then comes the most famous quotes of the entire trip:       Jimmy: So were in Colonial Times now.
He looks up. They had electric lights back then????

Me: No Jimmy, they're gas lamps.

Jimmy: Oh........ SHUT UP AND KEEP FARTING, WE MUST KEEP THE POWER RUNNING.

       Taylor: But, it hurts!!!!!!!

Ever since then, it's still a famous quote with us, and we continued our walk to Williamsburg. From there it was time for a rousing speech by the amazing Patrick Henry. Then we were off on our mission. In our short time there, we had to find facts on a person who used to live there, find objects on a list of pictures that were used in everyday, lfe, and to find what felt like 50 signs, and what they advertised, who owned it, and all this other good stuff.
