Drumgriffin is in the County of Galway, Parish of Annaghdown, and is a small townland  north of the City of Galway. It is marked with a green star in the two maps below.

The map below shows the boundaries of the properties occupied by the O’Neill families in the 1800s, bounded on the West by Annaghdown, to the North by Corrandulla, to the East by  Gortroe and Cregg, and to the South by Addergoole. It also shows the locations of the three old cemeteries in the area.  There are other cemeteries, but they generally have the more recent burials, i.e., since the early 1900s.
