This is Sokka, a 9-year old mare. She moved with us to France, which means the landscape she rides through has changed a lot:
from the countryside of Holland (this picture was taken in De Rijp in the north-west) to the fields and hills of the Alsace in the north-east of France....
Of course Skyggnir had to experience the same change of home, but since they now live in our own backyard in stead of at a farmer's field some place, they both are very happy. And so are we!
The horses enjoy their newly constructed paddock and training ring very much, and everybody can now take a riding lesson in a safe surrounding, no matter what your age is.
Of course more experienced riders can go out into the beautiful nature of the Vosges du Nord.
Wintertime can be cold over here, but also provides for some nice snow pictures...
After the riding it is always nice to lay down and just enjoy the view....
And guess what happened on June 4th 2003? Sokka delivered a beautiful baby, a little stud which we named 'Bakkus'. Isn't he cute?
