About Beyblading and the Rules

This page is just a basic introduction page and I also explain the basic rules here, but over the next few pages I'll go over the other parts of Beyblading (the beyblades themselves, launching, beystadiums, and finally I will talk about the BBA and on that page you can find links to the two official Beyblade websites. (If you already know all about beyblading, this page will probably be kind of boring, this is more of an info section for beginners)

About Beyblading

Beyblades are battling tops that spin against each other in a Beystadium. Okay... so that wasn't the greatest introduction, but don't let that make you think that these are just little toys that spin, they have more power than that ^_^

In the TV show, Beyblading became (and still is) a very polular world-wide sport that had millions of players and many teams. In the real world Beyblading was very popular for a while -you couldn't find Beyblades in stock in stores anywhere- but the craze is dying down now unfortunately which leaves a bunch of poor lonely beyblades sitting on the shelves :(

The Rules

The rules of Beyblading are very simple, but the official rules in the TV show are different from the official rules in the real world. Here are the rules:

Tournament Rules (TV):

1)no cheating to get ahead of the honest players
2)Beybladers in a tournament must have a beyblade to use that ISNT broken, if a beyblade breaks during battle the player must either repair his or her beyblade or forfeit the match
3)To win a match, your Beyblade must be the last one spinning INSIDE the stadium. (you also win if your opponent forfeits, but that's a no-brainer)
4)Your beyblade must land INSIDE the beystadiu when you launch, if it doesn't, your opponent wins
5)No re-launching, you only have one chance for every match, so make sure it's a good launch!
6)Wait for the officials to say "LET IT RIP!" before you launch your beyblade, no head-starts! (if you are not playing in a tournament then someone -that someone doesnt need to be an official when you're not blading in a tournament- needs to say "Let it Rip" to make sure that both bladers launch at the same time)
7)Your beyblade doesn't have to be an official store-bought beyblade (this also includes special customized beyblades) but it needs to be able to spin (hmm... i wonder why...)

~~These were just the ones i came up with off the top of my head, if you can remember one from the tv show that I missed, please email me

Real-world Basic Beyblading Rules (from beyblade.com)

1)All Beyblade battles must occur in Beystadium! -- Beystadium cannot be on a table or other elevated surfaces 2)To begin official Beyblade battles, Beyblade tops must be launched after the signal of 3,2,1 LET IT RIP!
3)Only one launch per battle -- battle ends when there is only one top left spinning
4)If player touches opponent during opponent's launch of top, player loses 1 point
5)Player scores 1 point if opponent does not launch top into the Beystadium
6)If player's top enters one of the three penalty pockets anytime during battle, opponent scores 2 points (max score of 2 points per battle)
7)Player scores 1 point if his/her top spins longer than opponent's top
8)If player touches Beystadium during battle, opponent scores 3 points-battle immediately over
9)Compete in multiple battles-the player with 7 or more points at the completion of a battle wins!

Real-world Special Power Spirit Rules (from beyblade.com)

-Dragoon Storm (Dragon Spirit) Reverse Launch = Opponent must launch his/her top with his/her opposite (non writing) hand
-Draciel (Turtle Spirit) Delay Launch = Launch your Beyblade top 5 seconds after opponent launches his/her top
-Dranzer (Phoenix Spirit) Power Launch = Player can use a Deluxe Beyblade launcher while opponent can only use the standard Beyblade launcher
-Driger (White Tiger Spirit) Customization Launch = Opponent cannot use a customized top. His/her top must come straight out of the box
