Since 1992, this Southern metropolis have made tremendous, if dramatic, strides in commerce and industry. Before that, political instability and squabbles, aggravated by the simmering discontent of a vast portion of the community over policies of the past administration, effectively stultified all serious attempts at growth and development. 

But all these are past, since we assumed office by an overwhelming vote of the people four years ago, things have begun to look up. The city has transformed to a peaceful and politically-stable growth center. 

The last four years, for instance, saw Iloilo City making determined advantages to recapture the glory of its pre-war and post-war years. Domestic and foreign investments have reached record highs, and more are pouring in while you read this. Our unprecedented socio-economic growth stem not only from the confidence we gained from domestic and foreign investors but also to the diligence and industry of our people. 

Today, Iloilo City, continues to boom. Our decision to put our venerable metropolis on the Internet was based on our desire to share with the rest of the Filipinos and the world our new-found progress and God's abundant blessings.
