Iloilo keeps its high standard of living, it is a center of commerce and industry in Western Visayas. Many establishments and malls are now built in the heart of the city. Gaisano City is latest among them. Soon SM City will also rise along Diversion Road. 

Iloilo is an agricultural city. The supply of rice is not only limited to the region but is also for the whole Philippines. Even then, Iloilo’s economy has widespread commercial and industrial interest. Likewise, Iloilo is blessed with rich natural and sea resources, making its' nitch locally and internationally , such as in Japan, where Iloilo is a supplier of fish for its canning industry. 

Although Iloilo is still considered a developing city, there are already a lot of opportunities available for investments. Iloilo has an extensive system of navigable roads and highways, a national airport and an international port for ships.
