1: What is IT? |
| IT
is the field concerned with all aspects of managing and processing
information, especially within a large organization. The term includes
all forms of technology used to create, store, exchange, and manipulate
information. Because computers are central to information management,
computer departments within companies and universities are often called
IT departments. Information Technology is, and will remain, an integral
part of the world of business. |

2: What is an Online Portfolio? |
| An
online portfolio is a web site used to show a collection of work that
documents an individual's breadth of knowledge and/or employment experiences.
It usually includes a range of work demonstrating the specializations
that the individual has mastered. It can and should be updated often
as the individual learns new skills. Portfolios may be used for a
variety of purposes including: helping individuals demonstrate a wide
variety of skills; assisting in recognizing their own professional
growth; and teaching them to take greater responsibility for their
own learning and development. |

3:
Model Professional Portfolio |
| This
portfolio was particularly likable because it has unique design and
is simple, in effect disallowing the user from being distracted by
a difficult navigation system. The site has the look and feel of looking
through a spiral notebook, with the added benefits of hyperlinks.
The user may can jump to any location in the "book" with
a simple click. This portfolio serves its purpose well.

4: Model Student Portfolio |
| This
portfolio was very well organized and had a clean look about it. It
is in need of more content, but the overall design is pleasing to
the eye. Navigating this site is extremely user friendly. One wastes
no time on confusing navigation controls. Without an excessive use
of graphics or links, the site accomplishes the delivery of the author's
message to the target audience.

5: My Portfolio |
| My
audience is fortune 500 companies, perhaps one of the large oil firms
in town, with positions available in either their database administration,
web development, or web application departments. Though I possess
no practical IT experience in past places of employment, I offer potential
employers the most current skill set available. I will use graphics
to direct the user's eye to important information on the page, and
JavaScript to accomplish the rollover functionality on the main navigation
bar.. |
