| The Rhodesian Ridgeback is a solidly built upstanding dog of cosiderable presence. He is characterized by a dagger-shaped ridge of hair along his back from his wither to just above his tail-root. Ancient strains were used to protect flocks and herds from predators. Improved breeds were expected to gaurd lonley farms and to hunt big game. His height at close to 67 cm (26 in) coupled with a very solid frame make him extremely powerful. Nobody in their right mind would contemplate breaking into a house if they knew that there was a Rhodesian lurking within. |
