For the liver lover! These treats are really quick and easy...10 minutes from start to finish (not counting cool down time). And they don't stink when cooking like the baked liver treats tend to.

Ingredient's: 2 chicken livers (minced) and enough blood or water to equal 3/4 cup 1 cup hot cereal (quick cook) Cream of Wheat, Farina or Grits works well 1/4 cup hot tap water 1/4 to 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder (I use a scant 1/2 tsp)

Mince 2 whole raw chicken livers...they will turn to mush. put into measureing cup and add some blood (from the liver container)or water until the total volume equals 3/4 cup. Put into container for mixing (I use left over trays from microwave diners and then I cook the treats right in them). Add 1 cup quick cook Cream of Wheat (other farina type cereals work fine too) Stir to mix...then add 1/4 cup hot tap water and garlic powder and mix well.

At this point, if you used a recycled microwave dinner tray you can cover and start cooking treat dough in microwave. If not spoon treat dough onto paper plates and cover with another paper plate. (you can spoon individual treats or spread and cut into individual treats after cooking)

| Note: The treats tend to stick to the paper plate...but the coating on the recycled microwave tray tends to help prevent this. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Microwave on high(3 to 7 mins.)...turning 1/4 turn at least once durring cooking. Microwave's vary widely in power so you will have to use your own judgement as to times and watch the first batch carefully. My microwave is a 10 year old, 500 watt, machine...It takes 2 1/2 minutes then I turn tray 1/4 turn and cook another 2 1/2 minutes and turn one more time and cook another 2 minutes. Newer microwaves would probably only take 2 or 3 minutes to cook.

What you end up with is a solid block (if you used the microwave tray) that tastes like liver and has the consistancy of cheese. Just cut the block into little squares and store in refrigerator. Also holds up well to freezing.
