Bouncing Boilies
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
These treats are tasty, semi-soft, nongreasy, dough balls that you can carry in your pocket with out making a mess...
and they BOUNCE!
Ingredients:
3 oz. Tuna (well drained) or 3 chicken Livers (minced)
2 Tbsp pureed canned veggies (any kind) or 1 small jar Baby Food
1/2 Cream of Wheat or Corn Meal
2/3 cup Flour
(any kind)
1 Egg
Cornstarch as needed
Combine all ingredients in large mixing bowl to form a soft dough.
Put cornstarch in a dish or cereal bowl.
Put a pinch of cornstarch in the palm of your hand and coat hands well.
Take another pinch of cornstarch in the palm of your hand then get a little bit of dough from the mixing bowl and put it in the corn starch in the palm of your hand and roll it into a ball with the cornstarch coating the outside as you roll.
Set doughball asside...and repeat and repeat...
Until you roll up the whole batch. (it takes me aprox. 30 mins. to roll a double batch into 1/2 inch balls)
Next, bring a large pot of water to boil.
Add doughballs to boiling water a few at a time so they don't stick together.
Boil until they are all floating then boil a 1 or 2 minutes extra to be sure the last ones added are cooked.
Drain well in colander then either...
Let air dry until they are dry enough to carry in pocket.
or
put some corn starch in a large bowl and dump a handful of Boilies in swirl the bowl vigerously until the boilies are well coated. Repeat til all are coated.
Store in Refrigerator.
^They float when cooked^
<<< This batch contains  Liver and Sweetpotato
and
Tuna and Green Bean
Flavored Boilies.
I don't make these very often because they take quite a bit of time.
But, when you need a treat that won't fall apart, is not greasy or messy and you can throw for distance...
you can't beat a Boilie.
