Welcome to the big time.  This is the Governor's Resource Depot.

The office of Governor is a position that is amazing, eventful, exhilarating and trying all at the same time.  You get the opportunity to stand up in front of people, from as few as a dozen to as many as a couple thousand and represent the whole district.  You get to set the direction for the district.

It has definite perks.  No office gives you as many chances to travel and meet new people as this one.  No office gives you as much authority to set a direction for the district.

It also has extreme challenges.  A Governor has to make decisions for the good of the district.  This sometime means making very hard choices.  No Governor escapes their year without having to make at least one decision that causes them to lose a little sleep.

But, for those committed, no office offers as much potential to grow as a leader and a person.

Here you will find several resources, such as a manual, a sample agenda, directives, and newsletter, as well as agendas from a past Summer Board Retreat and District Officer Training Conference, two events a Governor has a large role in planning.

No paper resource, however, is equal to the resource of past Governor.  I strongly urge any interested candidate to spend time talking to as many past Governors as possible.  Each one faced different challenges and successes, and each has something to teach.  From them, take what they did that succeeded and merge it with your own style of leadership, and you'll have as much of a head start as is possible (which is not much) of knowing what it is to be a Governor.
