“We, brothers constituting the Alpha Sigma Fraternity, firmly established upon the principle
of TRUTH-REASON-JUSTICE, shall propagate the cause of humanitarian service in order to
achieve meaningful development, with the promotion of the goals of Nationalism, Academic
Excellence, Leadership, and Physical Development, and bound by the spirit of meaningful
brotherhood, do hereby uphold and fulfill this constitution.”

The Alpha Sigma
Fraternity
was founded on Oct. 10, 1962 by twenty-four college and university scholars who gathered to
form a fraternity unique in its vision, for it aimed at principled brotherhood,
fused with the scholarly pursuit of TRUTH, REASON and JUSTICE.
Originally striving for academic excellence, Alpha
Sigma stood for “Advocates of Scholarship”. The nationalist movement of the
1960’s redefined the fraternity’s role to become one with the people’s
struggles for change. Thus was born “Alay sa Sambayanan” - to serve the people
- symbolizing the fraternity’s highest goal.
Through nationalism, academic excellence,
leadership and physical development, Alpha Sigmans have remained true to the
highest goal laid down by our founding brothers - genuine humanitarian service.
