| Conventions: The MAGE Page This is a wonderful group of conventions in the MN-Iowa area. They are reletilvly small and inexpensive to attend but still lots of fun. LARPs: The Madison Long Tooth Society This is the LARP I play in WI. A wonderful group of people who excell at playing their characters. This is the old Chronicle Page. We've started a new game as of September 2003. Madison by Night This is the LARP I play in WI. A wonderful group of people who excell at playing their characters. This is the Chronicle that we are currently playing as of September 2003. So far it has been an absolute blast. Toredor rule! Gangrel drool! Six-Stones Inc. I've played with these people for longer than I want to think about. Their game is loads of fun and a nice change from all the White Wolf stuff out there. Other Games that are just fun: Flux This is a card game that you should be able to pick up at most game stores. The rules are constantly changing but it is actually rather easy to understand. Lunchmoney Okay, this is another card game but this one is much more complicated than flux. The basic premise is that you play a Chatholic school girl beating up other girls for their lunch money. Depending on the crowd you are playing with, games can range from fun to hilarious. It Came from the Late, Late, Late Show This game is hilarious though I suggest not playing it before 2am. You play an actor in a low budget B-movie. There is nothing like fighting dinousaurs in the wild west. Oh! And using hampsters in jars as weapons. Just for fun... For the hell of it, these are links to characters' pages that I have made for me and other people. Harley - SiS character Sasha - SiS Character D'Nei - White Wolf Vampire |
| Hee hee. So you are either a fellow gamer or didn't follow my advice earlier. Ah well, that's okay. I guess I should start off by explaining for those of you who don't understand what I am going to be talking about. Gaming is just that, playing games. There are several differant catagories. There are table top games, board games, card games, computer games, games played with little minitures and games where you wander around pretending to be someone else. If you play video games, you probably have heard the term RPG before. Basically, it just stands for Role-Playing Game. In those games you make a character and play that character either in the video game, or for me, with several other people sitting around a table. A LARP, Live-Action Role Playing game, is simply a game that takes away the table and allows the people playing more room to pretend they are their characters. It's just a game. No, its not a cult. No, its not evil. No, it is not responsible for people killing each other. *sigh* Anyways, these days I am mostly LARPing on the weekends here in WI with a group that plays in the school unions. Below is a link to their site. Seriously, if this interests you and you are in the Madison area, come check us out. Its a lot of fun. Six Stones, the wonderful people who just gave me a Spork award, also goes around to differant gaming conventions and host a game called Society in Shadow which I love. The people are wonderful to hang out with and play with. I'm also going to try and list conventions that I've gone to in the past. Along with anything else I decide to stick in here. |
