You read?!?
This is my site dedicated to all those wonderful authors out there whose writing was worse than any other drug.
Jacqueline Carey:
This is a newer author for me but already a great favorite.  Her trilogy, Kushiel's Dart, Kushiel's Chosen and Kushiel's Avatar, are beautifully written.  The heroine is such a unique character and idea and the world is wonderfully written.  In many ways, this is a religious alternate history story and so many real ideas and beliefs are blended into her world that you sometimes have to remind yourself of what is real and what is the author's imagination.

Laurell K Hamilton:
This is the author of the wonderful Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series.  If you haven't read any of them, start with the first, Guilty Pleasures.  Trying to start the series in the middle might be possible but you'll end up reading them all anyways.  Might as well start at the begining.  Definatly for any one who loves the supernatural creepy crawlies.

Tanith Lee:

This is a wonderful author who writes a lot of young adult books.  But they are still very good and well worth checking out no matter how old you are or feel.  If nothing else, she has some interesting ideas.

Robin McKinley:
A childhood favorite, her books are what first got me reading.  I espescially want to recomend her book, Outlaws of Sherwood, to anyone who is a Robin Hood fan.  She does the legend justice and give Robin the humanity and reality that is often lacking in such retellings of legends.  Her newest book, Sunshine, looks to be a great read

Tamora Pierce:
This is an author that I found when I decided that all I really wanted to read was a fun, easy, happy book.  Another young adult author, she is getting to be quite well known.  Her books are classic adventures and her series are often sets of 4 books.

David Weber:
Not only is this man an awsome author but he is just cool.  His latest in his Honor Harriington series, which is very much recommended to any who enjoy science fiction or political intrigue, has a CD in the back with the entire Harrington series and several other of his works on it.  Major kudos to a man who is confident enough in his work to give it out like this.

More great authors will be added.  Trust me, I have tons that I want to sing the praises of and even more books to gush over.  But this is the begining list.
