The brothers have been making music together since they were kids but were caught by the house fever around 1994 visiting legendary Amsterdam based houseclubs IT and Roxy. By 1995 they had their first house track cut on acetate, which was played by DJ Marcello at Chemistry. In 1997 they gained their first fame with their house remix of Lakiesha Berry's Like This and Like That which appeared on a British speedgarage compilation. Throughout 1997 and 1998 they produced and remixed records on several Dutch labels like: Outland, After Midnight, 33/45 and Stealth for artists like DJ Tonka, DJ Guan ft. Cybill Jefferies, Black and White Brothers, Soup and Kim Lucas... In 1999 they remixed for artists like Kolourful Karma, USA, Laidback Luke, Floris, and Tom de Neef (of Plastika) and produced material for ROSE, FORREST, SOULHUSTLERS and DEBBY SLEDGE (of Sister Sledge). Their 33/45 release Your Last Dance was played by the Basement Jaxx in their BBC Radio 1 essential mix...
In 2000 the
Hardsoul brothers released their first album The sound of Love &
Dedication which contained a mix of some of their favourite
productions from 1995 to 2000.
In 2001
Hardsoul remixed for almost every Dutch dance-label and were ready to
move on to international territory. In 2003, They've produced 2 great singles, "Sweatshop", a Latin infused live groove, and a collaboration with house legend Ron Carroll, entitled "Back Together", both slated for release on Soulfuric.
