The scene was fresh and growing and it seemed like anything with the name 'house music' in the title would always be packed with 'mad for it' clubbers, seeking the purest injection of new music. During the next three years at the station, the scene exploded and I began to develop into a regular DJ face on the local club scene. Back in the days it was all about the music (Italian house, Rave, Hardcore, Breaks and Techno) but as I moved into '94, I became exposed to a new sound, the deeper musical elements of U.S Garage. DJ's like Louie Vega, Roger Sanchez and E-Smooth all became idols to me. I took a year off DJing to discover this new sound and develop my mixing skills. I didn't just want to be able to mix; I wanted to be as good as some of the best. In my local area, high profile superclubs began to emerge to provide the people with this new slick vibe. House club nights such as Up Ya Ronson, Back to Basics, The Hacienda, Luv 2 Be, Ministry of Sound and Cream became my weekend playgrounds as indulged within the scene. In '95, at the height of the movement, I opened my own weekly club night under the name Indulgence. I invited residents from my favourite clubs to feature as guests and it was a success. Three years passed and I began to hear rumours from clubbers about the house scene overseas in Europe. Of course everyone knew about Ibiza but the smaller islands were developing in the same way. So in '99 I packed my bags and moved to Rhodes for the summer. After three days I landed a residency at the infamous 800 capacity Set Club. That summer opened my eyes to the winning combination of house music and sunshine. The summer consisted of Saturday nights every night, moonlit beach parties and meeting international DJ's and people from all over the world. The next year the manager of Set retired and asked me to manage the club. We had another great year but something was lacking and I felt like I needed more. The next year I stayed in the UK and saved some cash. After meeting lots of Aussies I became curious again and i then decided to give Australia a go. I guess this is where I now go on to say that I'm a superstar DJ and my life consists of jet lag, fast cars and the finest women. That's not the case. I'm still just a guy who loves to play the music I love and I gets his kicks and satisfaction from seeing the smiling faces on the dance floor. I like to think that somehow I'm touching people's lives for a moment, with great memories of good times and nostalgia. Anyway, here I am, living in Brisbane (Australia) and holding a residency at the MyBar nightclub on the Australi's Gold Coast. It's all good. I'm still playing the music I love and I'm sure my stories will continue. I guess all I ever wanted to do was play my music, make people dance and at the same time touch people's lives with a great stories of a Saturday night memory. I hope to see you soon.
