As of right now, I don't exactly have time to run for political office, nor do I have the means. But politics in any form has always fascinated me. All I have to do is look at those who hold positions in Gates town office, and I see that it is riddled with selfishness and corruption.
Why is it that our leaders do the opposite of what our founders claimed they would do?
There's only one way to fix the problems, and that is to become part of the solution.
So, once I am more settled with a house and a family -- once I'm sure that my schooling is coming to a close -- I will be able to consider running.
If I hadn't seen all of the time and effort that my father had to put into running the Gates Democratic party, I would be running right now. If I hadn't watched my family go through a painful law suit (note that we won) having to do with dirty politics, I'd be campaigning or getting ready to campaign right now. Unfortunately, I don't have that kind of time. I have other things to think about at the moment.
