Bedroom Suite
This is the beginnings of a complete bedroom suite I'm making. It started with the blanket chest which is similar to one Norm Abram made on The New Yankee Workshop. I liked it so much, a few months later I began drawing up plans for the nightstands. After I finished them, I spent quite a while trying to decide what kind of headboard would fit in best with this style of bedroom. I built the mirror, for Christmas this year (2001). It is another one of my designs (the feet went through a number of revisions before I was done). If I ever make another, there are a few things to be done differently, but it's that way with most of my stuff. We were waiting on the entire room to be finished before we stained anything, but after 4 years, I decided it was time to start putting a finish on them. Next on the list is a 7 drawer dresser with mirror, and an armoire with 4 drawers and a built in area for a TV/VCR. |
