Australia´s Great Barrier Reef is the largest living creature on the world and the only one that can be seen from the moon. It is about 2,000 km long and is located off Queensland in North-Eastern Australia. The reef is composed of hundreds of individual reefs and has many islets, coral gardens, and unusual marine life. In some places it is more than 122 m thick.
The photos published on this website have been taken by Andreas Uhde during several dive trips on the Great Barrier Reef in April/May 2001. They are supposed to give you an impression of what to expect when diving the Great Barrier Reef.
