***Aladdin was released on November 11th, 1992***
***The idea of adapting the Aladdin story for a Disney animated musical was first put forward by Howard Ashman, while he and Alan Menken were still working on The Little Mermaid. Ashman worked with Menken on six songs including Arabian Nights and Friend Like Me and Prince Ali.***
***Tim Rice wrote additional songs after the death of Howard ashman in 1991. Songs he wrote in particular were "One Jump Ahead" and "A Whole New World"***
***Arabian Calligraphy and Persian Miniatures were a great influenced to the art directors.***
***Supervising animator Eric Goldberg was the first animator to work on Aladdin. He created the Genie, the curved, fluid caricatural style of artist Al Hirscheld heavily influenced Goldberg.***
***Earning $200 million internationally, Aladdin became the highest grossing animated film til then***
***Aladdin won 2 Academy Awards - for *Best Song - A Whole New World and Best Original Score***
***In 1993 the video release also broke records***
***The directors of Aladdin were John Musker and Ron Clements***
***Aladdin lasts for 90 minutes.***
***In the original scrit, Aladdin had a mother and three brothers called Babkak, Omar and Kassim***
***Aladdin was originally supposed to be aged only around 12-13***
***This large family was seen to be too complicated and they were cut out, making Aladdin an orphan. Also cut out were a few songs including "Proud Of Your Boy", "Babkak, Omar, Aladdin, Kassim" and "How Quick They Forget"***
***The first drafts of Aladdin (done by Glen Keane) were rejected because he looked too boyish - after much thought, the age of both Aladdin and Jasmine were put up to late teens so that their romance would be more believable.***
***Aladdin was given a 'fez to toe' makeover because it was felt that the Genie was drowing him out. Keane took inspiration from Michael. J. Fox, MC Hammer and Tom Cruise. Elements taken from Fox were the way that no matter how bad things got for him, he always ended up on top, and his boy like charm. MC Hammer's moves were used by Aladdin, as was his street rat costume, the vest without a shirt and parachute trousers. But the most influence was drawn from Tom Cruise, Aladdin's facial profile is the exact same as Cruise, and the nose coming down from the forehead and the dark thick eyebrows are also very similar to those of Cruise's. The confidence he held within himself through everything he did was also similar to Cruise, especially his performance in 'Top Gun'***
***The changes that were made to Aladdin were made after most of the film had been animated. If you look carefully at the 'Friend Like Me' scene you will see the old Aladdin in small flashes occasionally, because it would have been too time consuming and expensive to do the whole scene again.***
***Fanastic Computer Generated Imagery were used to create the Cave of Wonders and other spectacular images in the film***
***More than 300 people worked on the the animation of Aladdin***
***Aladdin's hairstyle was changed no less than 3 times***
